BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Veronique, born in Jerusalem (Israel), is known for handing Jesus the sweat cloth to dry his face during his crucifixion. Legend has it that Veronica met Jesus on his way to Golgotha, where he was carrying the cross. In the midst of the crowd and the suffering, she handed him a cloth to cleanse his bloodied face. When Jesus returned the cloth, it is said that his face was miraculously imprinted on it. This cloth is known as the "Veil of Veronica".
