BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Francis of Paola was born in 1416 in Paola, Calabria, and showed remarkable religious devotion from a young age. He entered a Franciscan monastery but later chose the life of a hermit. Many followers gathered around him, leading him to found the Order of the Minims, known for their extreme austerity. His miracles and prophetic gifts made him widely known. King Louis XI of France invited him to his court as a spiritual advisor. Saint Francis of Paola was dedicated to peace and mercy and was canonized in 1519.
