BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Adelhard was born around 751 into the Carolingian family and was a grandson of Charles Martel. He was raised at the court of Charlemagne and initially served as a royal official before choosing the monastic life. He joined the Abbey of Corbie and later became its abbot. Under his leadership, the abbey became an important center of learning. He also founded the monastery of Corvey in Germany. Adelhard was a valued advisor to Charlemagne and Louis the Pious. Despite political challenges, he remained true to his monastic calling, promoting education and piety.
