BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Barnabas, originally named Joseph, was a Levite from the island of Cyprus. As an early follower of Jesus, St. Barnabas sold his possessions and laid the proceeds at the apostles' feet to support the young Christian community. Together with St. Paul, Saint Barnabas undertook several missionary journeys to spread the Gospel. He played a crucial role in welcoming Paul into the community of believers and was instrumental in spreading Christianity among the Gentiles. Saint Barnabas is considered the founder of the Church in Cyprus and suffered martyrdom by stoning.

PATRONAGE:
St. Barnabas is the patron saint of Cyprus, Antioch, and Milan. Additionally, San Barnabas is venerated as the patron saint of weavers and coopers.
