BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Bononius was an Italian Benedictine monk and abbot of the monastery of Lucedio. Born around 980, he joined the monastery on the Island of St. Boniface in Alexandria at a young age, where he lived as a hermit during the Muslim rule in Egypt. Later, he returned to Italy and reformed the monastery of Lucedio, known for his ascetic way of life and devotion to prayer. He passed away around 1026 and was soon venerated as a saint.
