BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Eulalia grew up in a noble Christian family near Barcelona. In the course of Diocletian's persecution of Christians, she refused to renounce her faith and was therefore imprisoned. According to tradition, she suffered 13 tortures, such as scourging or having her flesh scratched with an iron hook. In the end, she was tied to an X-shaped cross, where she succumbed to her injuries.

St. Eulalia is the patron saint of the city of Barcelona; of sailors and protects against drought.
