BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Gebhard was born around the year 940 in Switzerland into a noble family. After receiving his education, he was consecrated as Bishop of Constance in 979. During his tenure, he promoted the establishment of monasteries and cared for the poor and needy. He is particularly known for founding the Benedictine monastery of Petershausen. He was a respected pastor and worked towards church reform. Saint Gebhard passed away in 995 and was later canonized.
