BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Corbinian was born around the year 670 near present-day Arpajon in France. He initially lived as a hermit before making a pilgrimage to Rome, where he received from the Pope the mission to evangelize in Bavaria. Around 724, he settled in Freising and founded a Christian community there. He is considered the first bishop of Freising and laid the foundation for the future diocese. Corbinian died on September 8, around 730, in Freising.
