BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Tarcisius was a young Christian in Rome during the persecutions under Emperor Valerian. He served as an acolyte and was entrusted with carrying the Eucharist to persecuted Christians. One day, while carrying the Blessed Sacrament, he was recognized by pagan boys who tried to force him to reveal its contents. Tarcisius firmly refused and was brutally beaten to death. However, the Eucharist remained unharmed. He was later venerated as a martyr, and his story was passed down through the writings of Pope Damasus I.
