BIOGRAPHY:
St. Hilary of Poitiers was an influential theologian and bishop in the 4th century. Born into a wealthy pagan family, he converted to Christianity and soon became the bishop of Poitiers. He actively opposed Arianism, which led to his persecution and exile. During his exile, he wrote significant theological works, particularly against Arian doctrine. After returning to Poitiers, he continued to defend the Trinitarian faith. Due to his theological contributions, he was called the "Athanasius of the West." He was later canonized and declared a Doctor of the Church by Pope Pius IX in 1851.
