BIOGRAPHY:
St. George was a Roman soldier and Christian martyr, whose veneration spread worldwide over the centuries. One of the most famous legends tells how St. George slew a dragon to save a city and a king's daughter. His strong faith in Christ led to conflict with Emperor Diocletian, who tortured and eventually executed him. His steadfastness made him a symbol of courage and faith.
