BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Philip, one of the twelve apostles of Jesus, was from Bethsaida in Galilee. He is mentioned in the Gospel of John as one of the first disciples called by Jesus. St. Philip played an important role in spreading Christianity and is associated with the feeding of the five thousand and other significant biblical events. After Jesus' death, he traveled as a missionary to Phrygia (modern-day Turkey), where he preached the Gospel. Saint Philip was martyred in Hierapolis, where, according to tradition, he was crucified. His veneration spread rapidly in the early Church.
