BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Bertrand of Garrigue was a Dominican monk and a close companion of Saint Dominic. Born in southern France, he was among the first followers of the Order of Preachers. He dedicated his life to evangelization and the fight against the Albigensian heresy. Known for his humility, ascetic discipline, and charity towards the poor, he founded numerous monasteries and contributed significantly to the expansion of the Dominican Order. St. Bertrand passed away around the year 1230 and was later canonized.
