BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Wolfgang of Regensburg was an important bishop and missionary of the 10th century. Born around 924 in Swabia, he joined the Benedictine Abbey of Einsiedeln after his education. Later, he became a teacher and priest and was appointed Bishop of Regensburg in 972. During his tenure, he promoted monastic reform and contributed to the Christianization of Hungary. Despite his high status, he led a modest and ascetic life. According to legend, he withdrew as a hermit into the mountains, where he built a chapel. He died in 994 and was soon canonized.

St. Wolfgang is the patron saint of sculptors, sailors, woodworkers, and teachers. He is also invoked against paralysis, strokes, and eye diseases.
