Biography of St. Ernest:
St. Ernest of Prague grew up in Böhmen and studied for 14 year in Bologna and Padua. Exactly here, in Padua, he met the future emperor Charles IV. Ernest became dean of the cathedral of of Prague, then bishop and later first archbishop of Prague. He played an important role in the reformation of the administration and judiciary. In Prague, he founded the St. Vitus cathedral and was the co-founder of the University. Moreover, he had great influence on the artistic and spiritual revival under Charles IV. St. Ernest died in 1364.
