BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Erhard was a Frankish bishop and missionary who worked mainly in Bavaria. He is considered the founder of the Diocese of Regensburg and played a key role in the region's Christianization. According to legend, he miraculously baptized the blind daughter of the Duke of Bavaria, restoring her sight and leading many to convert to Christianity. He was known for his scholarship and piety and was venerated as a saint after his death.
PATRONAGE:
St. Erhard is the patron saint of the dioceses of Regensburg and Strasbourg, as well as of the blind and those suffering from eye diseases.
