BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Paul, born as Saul in Tarsus, was the son of wealthy Jewish parents with Roman citizenship and grew up in a Greek-influenced environment. As a Pharisee, he initially persecuted the followers of Jesus Christ. However, on the road to Damascus, he experienced a vision of the risen Christ, which changed his life. After his conversion, he dedicated himself to spreading the Gospel, particularly among non-Jews. He undertook several missionary journeys throughout the eastern Mediterranean, founding numerous Christian communities. His letters to these communities form an essential part of the New Testament and continue to shape Christian theology today. Saint Paul was executed in Rome around AD 64.
