BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Gregorio Barbarigo was born in 1625 in Venice and was a distinguished churchman known for his commitment to education and pastoral care. He studied successfully in Padua and began his career as a diplomat in the Vatican. In 1657, he was appointed Bishop of Bergamo and later became a Cardinal and Bishop of Padua. He established numerous schools and libraries and promoted clergy reform. His life was marked by deep piety and a strong sense of social responsibility. He died in Padua in 1697.
