BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Jude Thaddeus was one of the twelve apostles of Jesus and should not be confused with Judas Iscariot, the betrayer. In the Gospels, he is also called Thaddeus or Lebbaeus. After Christ's ascension, he preached the Gospel in Judea, Mesopotamia, and Persia. According to tradition, he was martyred in Persia around AD 65, along with the apostle Simon the Zealot. His relics are said to rest in St. Peter's Basilica in Rome.
