BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Nicholas of Flüe, also known as Brother Klaus, was born in 1417 in Flüeli, Obwalden, Switzerland. He was a respected farmer, politician, judge, and soldier. With his wife Dorothee Wyss, he had ten children. At the age of 50, with his family's consent, he chose to lead a hermit's life. He settled in Ranft, where he spent 20 years in prayer and meditation. Nicholas was esteemed for his wisdom and visionary gifts and played a significant role as an advisor in political and spiritual matters. He died on March 21, 1487.
