BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Benjamin of Persia was born around the year 400 in Persia. As a deacon, he dedicated himself to missionary work in his homeland, proclaiming the Christian faith. In 422, he was arrested due to his preaching but was released after a year through the intervention of the Roman emperor, on the condition that he would no longer preach. However, Benjamin could not remain silent and continued his missionary activities. Consequently, he was arrested again and, under King Bahram V, suffered cruel tortures, including having sharp thorns driven under his nails. Finally, in 424, he was martyred by impalement.
