BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Emmeram was a Frankish bishop and missionary of the 7th century. He likely came from Aquitaine and traveled to Bavaria to support the Christianization efforts. In Regensburg, he was highly regarded at the ducal court. According to legend, he was falsely accused of impregnating Duke Theodo's daughter. As a result, he was brutally tortured and killed, even though he was innocent. Later, his innocence was recognized, and he was venerated as a martyr. His relics were buried in St. Emmeram's Church in Regensburg, which became an important pilgrimage site.
