BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Firminus of Uzès was a bishop of Uzès in southern France during the 6th century. He came from a noble Gallo-Roman family and was introduced to the religious life at an early age. Firminus entered the monastery of Lérins before being appointed bishop of Uzès. As bishop, he promoted monastic discipline and evangelized the region. He actively opposed Arianism and strengthened the Christian faith among his followers. He died around the year 553.
