BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Francis Xavier was a Spanish Jesuit missionary and one of the first companions of Saint Ignatius of Loyola. Born in 1506 in the Kingdom of Navarre, he studied at the University of Paris, where he joined the Society of Jesus. In 1541, he was sent as a missionary to India, converting many people to Christianity. His journeys took him to Malaysia, Japan, and finally to China, where he died in 1552 on Shangchuan Island before reaching the mainland. His missionary work made him one of the greatest evangelists in history.
