BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Josaphat Kuntsevych was born in 1580 in Volhynia (modern-day Ukraine) and joined the Basilian Order at a young age. He became a priest and later Archbishop of Polotsk. His primary mission was the unity of Orthodox Christians with the Catholic Church, strongly supporting the Union of Brest. His reforms and fervent efforts earned him both followers and enemies. On November 12, 1623, he was martyred in Vitebsk by opponents of the Union and was later canonized.
