BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Isidore of Madrid was born around 1070 in Madrid and lived as a humble farmworker. Despite his hard labor, he dedicated much time to prayer and charity. According to legend, angels plowed the fields for him while he prayed. He was known for his deep devotion, miracles, and kindness toward the poor and animals. Many stories recount miraculous water springs that appeared through his prayers. St. Isidore passed away in 1130 and was canonized by Pope Gregory XV in 1622.
