BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Peregrinus Laziosi was born around 1260 in Forlì, Italy. As a young man, he was involved in an anti-papal movement, but after meeting St. Philip Benizi, he converted and joined the Servite Order. He led an austere life of prayer and fasting. In his later years, he developed a severe leg wound that was scheduled for amputation. The night before the operation, he prayed fervently and was miraculously healed. Because of this miracle, he is especially venerated as the patron of the sick. He died in 1345 and was canonized in 1726.
