BIOGRAPHY:
Saint John Climacus, also known as John of the Ladder, was a prominent ascetic writer and monk of the Sinai Monastery. At the age of 16, he joined the monastery on Mount Sinai and spent decades as a hermit. Due to his wisdom and spiritual depth, he eventually became the abbot of the monastery. His most famous work, the Ladder of Divine Ascent (Klimax tou Paradeisou), describes the Christian's spiritual journey in 30 steps and is considered a masterpiece of ascetic literature. St. John Climacus was known for his humility, deep prayer life, and spiritual guidance. He passed away around 649.
