BIOGRAPHY:
Saint John Don Bosco was born in 1815 in Becchi, Italy, and dedicated his life to educating and caring for disadvantaged youth. From an early age, he showed a strong interest in education and was ordained a priest in 1841. During a time of social hardship, he founded the Oratory of Turin, a center for street children where they received education, vocational training, and spiritual guidance. St. John Don Bosco developed an educational method based on love, faith, and reason. In 1859, he founded the Salesian Society, which continues to serve youth worldwide. He passed away in 1888 in Turin and was canonized by Pope Pius XI in 1934.
