BIOGRAPHY:
Saint John Massías was born in 1585 in Ribera del Fresno, Spain. From an early age, he felt a strong calling to prayer and asceticism. He joined the Dominican Order and spent most of his life in a monastery in Lima, Peru, where he devoted himself to the poor and the sick. St. John Massías was known for his deep piety, mystical experiences, and his tireless devotion to the Rosary. It is said that through his prayers, he freed many souls from Purgatory. He died in 1645 and was canonized by Pope Paul VI in 1975.
