BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Joseph, the spouse of the Virgin Mary, was a carpenter from Nazareth and the foster father of Jesus. A just and devout man, he received a message from an angel instructing him to take Mary as his wife. He fled to Egypt with her and the infant Jesus to protect him from King Herod. Later, the Holy Family settled in Nazareth, where St. Joseph acted as a guardian and provider. He is honored as a model of fatherly care and humble labor.
PATRONAGE:
St. Joseph is the patron saint of the Church, workers, families, carpenters, the dying, and many countries, including Austria and Canada.
