BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Eustace, also known as Placidus, was a Roman general under Emperor Trajan. According to legend, he had a vision of a crucifix between the antlers of a stag while hunting, which led him and his family to convert to Christianity. His faith, however, resulted in persecution under Emperor Hadrian, who subjected him to torture and eventually executed him in a burning bronze bull. Despite his tragic end, he is honored as a steadfast witness of faith.

St. Eustace is the patron saint of hunters, foresters, and soldiers, as well as a protector in difficult trials.
