Saint Zeno, also known as the Bishop of Verona, was an important religious figure of the 4th century. Born in North Africa, he traveled to Italy and was consecrated as the bishop of Verona. He was a strong opponent of Arianism and dedicated himself to helping the poor and children. His theological writings and sermons are among the oldest Christian texts still preserved today. Saint Zeno is also credited with the miracle of saving a child from the waters of the Adige River. The fish, often depicted with him, is believed to symbolize this miracle or his connection to water.
