BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Adalgar was a Benedictine monk and Archbishop of Hamburg-Bremen. Born around 850, he entered the service of the Church early in life. After the death of Archbishop Rimbert in 888, St. Adalgar became his successor and dedicated himself to the evangelization of the Scandinavian peoples. During his tenure, he strengthened Christian communities and promoted the expansion of church structures. His diplomatic skills facilitated close cooperation with the German royal house. He passed away around 909.
