BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Alphonsus Liguori was an Italian bishop, theologian, and founder of the Redemptorists. Born in Naples, he initially pursued a successful legal career but later dedicated himself to theology and became a priest. A renowned preacher, he was known for his deep yet accessible sermons. His works on moral theology greatly influenced the Catholic Church. In 1762, he was appointed Bishop of Sant'Agata dei Goti but later retired due to health issues. He wrote numerous religious texts, including the famous "The Glories of Mary". He was canonized in 1839 and later declared a Doctor of the Church.
