BIOGRAPHY:
St. Bonaventure, born Giovanni di Fidanza in Bagnoregio, was a prominent medieval theologian and philosopher. He joined the Franciscan Order and later became its Minister General, significantly contributing to its structural reform. He studied at the University of Paris, where he was in close contact with Thomas Aquinas. In 1273, Pope Gregory X appointed him Cardinal-Bishop of Albano, but he passed away a year later during the Second Council of Lyon. His theological works, including "Itinerarium Mentis in Deum," remain among the most influential of Scholasticism.
