Biography of St. Catherine of Siena:
According to the legend, St. Catherine was the twenty-fifth child of a wool dyer in northern Italy who had mystical visions since she was 6 years old. Apparently, she saw guardian angels. At the age of 16, she joined the Dominican order. Although she did not enjoy proper education, she was very intelligent, had a good relationship with the Pope and wrote brilliant letters. It is said that St. Catherine of Siena had stigmata that became visible only after death at the age of 33.
