BIOGRAPHY:
St. Alexandra of Egypt spent her life in a tomb. According to tradition, a young man fell in love with her, but she did not reciprocate. In order not to offend him, she had herself locked up. From then on, she lived in absolute asceticism, her only occupation being the spinning of flax. She also quoted holy scriptures and the words of wise men.
