BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Coloman of Stockerau was an Irish pilgrim traveling to the Holy Land through present-day Austria. Due to his foreign language and clothing, he was mistaken for a spy in Stockerau, near Vienna, tortured, and hanged from an elder bush on July 17, 1012. His body is said to have remained incorrupt for a year and a half, and numerous miracles were reported at his grave. On October 13, 1014, his relics were transferred to Melk Abbey, where he is still venerated today.
