BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Englmar was a hermit from the Bavarian Forest, known for his piety and ascetic lifestyle. He lived near Deggendorf and attracted many pilgrims seeking advice and prayer. However, out of envy, he was murdered by a companion who hid his body under the snow. Months later, his body was found intact, considered a divine sign. Soon, veneration developed around him, and his grave became a pilgrimage site.
