BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Hildegard, born in Bermersheim vor der Höhe (Germany), was an important theologian, naturalist and composer of the High Middle Ages. As a child, she entered the Disibodenberg monastery, where she was later elected abbess. Over the years, she had numerous visions, which led to her most important works. For example, "Liber Scivias" (Know the Ways), in which she recorded her mystical experiences and theological insights. Her repertoire also included scientific works, including "Physica" and "Causae et Curae". In addition, her correspondence with important figures such as Emperor Frederick Barbarossa and Pope Eugene III testifies to her great influence.
PATRONAGE:
St. Hildegard is the patron saint of Esperantists, linguists and natural scientists.
