BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Esther was a central figure in Judaism, which is why her story has its own chapter in the Old Testament. She came from the tribe of Benjamin and was raised by her cousin Mordechai. Due to her beauty and virtue, she was appointed Queen of Persia and ruled alongside King Ahasuerus (Xerxes I). Her thwarting of the genocide of the Jews was decisive. She appeared before the king without being asked, a crime for which the death penalty could be imposed and tried to protect her people. With the help of her cousin, she convinced the king and saved masses of Jews.
PATRONAGE:
St. Esther is the patron saint of the Purim festival.

The symbols of San Esther are a book as a sign of her wisdom, a sceptre to emphasize her noble origins, a cross to imply her holiness and a crown to emphasize her social status.
