When did Saint Sarah live: 1st century AD

BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Sarah is particularly venerated in the Roma tradition. Hardly anything is known about her life, especially as her existence is doubted by historians. She is often depicted as a dark-skinned woman, which leads to various interpretations of her origins. This is why she is also called Sara-la-Kâli, which roughly means "Sara the Black". Sara is said to have served St. Mary Magdalene, Mary Salome and Mary Jacobe and to have received them in Provence (France) after fleeing from Palestine.

PATRONAGE:
St. Sarah has no specific symbol.

SYMBOLISM, DEPICTION:
The symbols of San Sarah are an inkwell with a quill, which illustrates her contribution to the Vulgate, a book as a sign of her wisdom and an abbot's staff, which emphasizes her monastic foundations.
