BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Sigibert III of Austrasia was born around 630 as the son of King Dagobert I of the Franks. He was crowned King of Austrasia as a child and ruled from 632. During his reign, he actively promoted Christianity, founded numerous monasteries, and generously supported the Church. Sigibert was known for his piety and charity, leading an ascetic life despite his royal status. He passed away in 656 in Metz, where he was later canonized. His tomb in the Abbey of Saint-Martin in Metz became a major pilgrimage site.
