Saint Adelrich was a Frankish nobleman and monk, born as the son of the Duke of Alsace. Despite his noble origins, St. Adelrich chose a life of humility and poverty and joined the monastery of Honau. There, he devoted himself to asceticism and prayer. His deep spiritual life made him a significant figure within the monastic community. He was already considered a holy man during his lifetime, and after his death, he became the patron saint of the Alsace region.
