BIOGRAPHY:
St. Agnes of Montepulciano, born in Gracciano-Vecchio (Tuscany), entered the convent of the Sacramentines at the age of nine. She was appointed abbess at the age of 20. Her tenure was characterized by austerity and asceticism. It went so far that she was forbidden to fast and even forgot to take communion. But what truly set her apart was her prophetic gift. According to legend, the Virgin Mary appeared to her three times, which gave her a great reputation. In 1306, she founded the Dominican monastery in Montepulciano, where she spent her last years.
