BIOGRAPHY:
Saint David, one of Israel's greatest kings, lived in the 11th century BC. Born as a shepherd, he became famous for defeating the giant Goliath with a sling. After King Saul's death, he was anointed king and made Jerusalem the capital of his kingdom. St. David is considered the author of many Psalms and was known for his wisdom and devotion. His reign was marked by political and religious reforms that strengthened Israel's unity. He died at an old age and was buried in Jerusalem.
