Saint Ansbald of Prüm was a Benedictine monk and the abbot of Prüm Abbey in the Eifel region of Germany. He succeeded Markward as abbot and led the monastery through a period of political and economic turmoil. Known for his wisdom, piety, and administrative skills, he played a crucial role in restoring the abbey after it was plundered by the Normans. Under his leadership, Prüm Abbey regained its prominence as a spiritual and economic center. He passed away on July 12.
