BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Angelicus of Fiesole, also known as Fra Angelico, was born in 1387 in Vicchio, Tuscany. He joined the Dominican Order and dedicated his life to art and devotion. His remarkable talent as a painter made him famous, and he was commissioned by the Church to create significant frescoes, including those in the monastery of San Marco in Florence. He lived humbly, seeing his art as a form of prayer. Pope Nicholas V invited him to Rome to decorate the Vatican chambers. He passed away in 1455 in Rome and was buried in the church of Santa Maria sopra Minerva. He was beatified by Pope John Paul II in 1982 and is considered the patron saint of artists.
