BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Fridolin of Säckingen was an Irish missionary monk who lived in the 6th century and is known as the founder of the Säckingen monastery. He is often called the "Apostle of the Upper Rhine" due to his efforts in evangelizing parts of modern-day Germany, Switzerland, and France. According to legend, he was granted land by Frankish King Clovis I to establish a monastery on the Rhine island of Säckingen, which became a key center for Christianization. Another legend tells of him resurrecting Urso, a wealthy landowner, to ensure the donation of his estate to the monastery.
